Serena Mena

At age sixteen, Serena Mena, who is a graduating Junior at Mission Heights Preparatory High School, has been awarded as theĀ 2016 Youth of the Year for the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Casa Grande Valley. Mena has been apart of the Boys and Girls Club movement for over 12 years with her roots as a member beginning in kindergarten. Through out her school years she has avidly attended our after-school program as a member, volunteer and is now working part time as a Youth Development Professional at our Ironwood Branch under Boys and Girls Club Program Director, Vickie Guanajuato.

As well as working directly with youth in our after-school programs, Mena has heavily been involved with her school studies. She is only a Junior but is set to Graduate in December 2016. Mena is also a proud club member of Student Ambassadors which is also a youth mentorship program at her high school.

Mena’s post high school education plans are to attend Grand Canyon University to obtain her Undergraduate Degree and pursue a career in Law as her dream is to become a Judge in the near future. The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Casa Grande Valley are proud to have Serena Mena as this years 2016 Youth of the Year!
